Naam Shabana Box Office Report: Has Dull Opening/ Naam Shabana First Day Box Office Collections Report/Review

Image
Naam Shabana took a dull opening of around 15%. The opening collections are generally similar to last week Phillauri barring the Punjab and Delhi belt where Phillauri had opened to good and decent collections respectively. Hyderabad and Gujarat are a little better than Phillauri. This film has the presence of Akshay Kumar and although its not going to show in collections like it did in a Dear Zindagi (Shahrukh Khan) he will have added to collections, the problem is that Naam Shabana has nothing really going for it so without him the collections would have been even worse. There is no brand value of Baby which is probably the reason this film has been made. The brand value only comes when films are liked by the audience and the theatrical and television results of Baby show that the public did not care for the film. The film is going to find it a struggle at the box office as although the budget is reasonable even with Akshay Kumar, the acquisition price is far too high in...

This year, Bollywood has seen a number of sequels release at the box-office. However, this week’s release NAAM SHABANA is not a sequel, but a prequel to the hit film BABY. Will NAAM SHABANA live upto the expectations at the box-office or not, let’s analyse. NAAM SHABANA is a thriller that mirrors the private life of a secret agent and the drama and action that is associated with it. The film starts off with broad daylight murders of two secret agents. This is followed by the introduction of the ‘tit-for-tat’ natured Shabana Khan (Taapsee Pannu), who lives with her mother in the bylanes of Mumbai. Upon the insistence of her boyfriend Jai (Taher Shabbir Mithaiwala), Shabana reveals her disturbed past life wherein she was jailed by the juvenile court for killing her alcoholic and abusive father. One day, when Shabana becomes a victim of eve-teasing by handful of ‘well connected’ guys, Jai gets killed in the bargain. After knowing that the police is deliberately delaying the case to...

Naam Shabana: What makes Taapsee Pannu feel intimidated by Akshay Kumar?

Image
Naam Shabana is the second time Taapsee has worked with Akshay, they have previously done Baby together and she is all praise for the Airlift star. Khiladi Akshay Kumar continues to ace his game as the action star - Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu has said it is scary to do an action movie alongside Akshay Kumar as he is a force to be reckoned with in that genre. Taapsee will be seen in the lead role in Naam Shabana, which also features Akshay in an extended cameo. “I was getting trained by people Akshay had assigned for me. They were task masters. He was not present during the training period so I don’t know how he is on ground. But he sets the expectation meter very high and it is very intimidating to do an action film where he also is a part of the film as people expect that level of action,” Taapsee said. She said filming the Shivam Nair-directed movie was definitely a challenge but her training helped her a lot while performing the action sequences. This i...
