Yamla Pagla Deewana First Day Friday Business at the Box office: Yamla Pagla Deewana had a good start on an all India basis and done very well on its first day despite underperformance at multiplexes in most parts of the country. Some places were phenomenal while others not so good. Punjab set new highs at all stations while rest of the of East Punjab was very good. Singh screens in the North were phenomenal and very good in the rest of the country. The downside was business in multiplexes of Mumbai and South where collections were pretty low. Yamla Pagla Deewana is a family drama of a man in search of his estranged family. Paramveer Singh Dhillon (Sunny), an upright and honest man working as a loan recovery agent in a bank stays with his mother, his Canadian wife (Mary) and two sons in Vancouver, Canada. Paramveer's mother is a typical Punjabi housewife, had decided to leave her husband Dharam Singh (Dharmender) because she was fed up with his deceptive ways. But one night Dharam Singh quietly took away the younger son and vanished. Paramveer decides to go to India to look for his Father and brother.
