Video: 'Character Dheela' Song Promo From Ready Starring Salman

Director Anees Bazmee and superstar Salman Khan say that the song 'Character Dheela' from their upcoming film 'Ready' is a tribute to legendary Bollywood actors - Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dharmendra.

In the song Salman and Zarine will be seen paying tribute to these yesteryear actors of Hindi cinema. Both will play different hit movie pairs of the past. "We often use this word 'character dheela hai' in a negative way. We were trying to make it sound good. Eventually the song should look good and presentable. Personally, my character is less 'dheela' as you can see my average is very less...and I am 46-year-old," said Salman.

In one act, both will be seen playing Shahzada Saleem and Anarkali like Dilip Kumar and Madhubala in Mughal-e-Azam; in another act Salman and Zarine will be seen in the black and white era playing tribute to the showman Raj Kapoor along with Nargis. Yet another sequence will see the two recreate the magic of the 'Sholay' pair, Viru and Basanti on screen. "It is our way of paying tribute to Raj Saheb, Dilip Saheb and Dharamji. We are not one per cent close to their performances," Salman said.

The song has been choreographed by Mudassar Khan, who has previously choreographed Salman in 'Dabangg'. "I was an assistant to Raj Saheb in 'Prem Rog'. I respect him a lot. I am a huge fan of Dilip Saheb and Dharamji entertained us a lot. Salman and me love and respect them a lot. So he is in their get up," said director Anees.

Dum Maro Dum Box Office Collections Report/Review

Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum: 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses.

Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment.

The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor.

In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least. The terrific promotions as well as no major opposition to contend with are two factors that should have gone in its favor. But Punjabi film DHARTI, starring Jimmy Sheirgill [in North India] and Telugu film MR. PERFECT, starring Prabhas [in South India], besides the IPL matches in Kolkata and Mumbai, respectively are likely to prove tough opponents.

Meanwhile, the paid previews on Thursday were dull and recorded disappointing collections. The film only managed to collect decent figures at some multiplexes of Mumbai city. The release on paid previews was pretty extensive at multiplexes. It was probably the biggest paid preview release after Ghajini, Chandni Chowk To China and Three Idiots.

A comparison from Indore with Chandni Chowk To China which had decent paid preview performance is as follows.

PVR
Dum Maro Dum - 46,867
Chandni Chowk To China - 1,09,200

Inox Sapna
Dum Maro Dum - 15,403
Chandni Chowk To China - 62,300

BIG
Dum Maro Dum - 14,472
Chandni Chowk To China - 56,900

Chandni Chowk To China - 35,350

Video: Theatrical Trailer of Ready.

Promos of Ready are out and what has caught instant attention is the sound of 'Dhinka Chika' which plays right through the duration of the theatrical trailer of Ready. Music lovers especially down South are referring to its obvious similarity to 'Ringa Ringa' which was heard in Allu Arjun's Telugu film Arya 2. Since the composer of Ready is Pritam, many were quick to scream 'It's a lift'. However the fact is that it was Salman influence at work as he wanted the song to be incorporated in Ready and the producers purchased the rights of the song.

"Bhai had caught fancy to this song and played it continuously in his vanity van during breaks", informs a source from the film's crew, "He found the overall attitude of the song pretty exciting and wanted to include it in one of his films. He informed Bhushan Kumar, head honcho of T-Series and also the co-producer of Ready about it and asked him to reach out to the song's original composer Devi Sri Prasad."

It wasn't tough to buy rights for the song and Prasad too was happy to create a Hindi version of 'Ringa Ringa' by making it 'Dhinka Chika'. Also, while the hook remained intact, the flavour was tweaked a little to address North Indian sensibilities.

The First Look of Ready Starring Salman Khan and Asin

Box Office Report of Game Starring Abhishek Bachchan and Kangana

The opening numbers of GAME at the box office were so sad that not just its producers, but also its distributors must've got a rude shock friday morning (1st April 2011). Game opened at 3% to 5% to maximum 10% at the box office.

The film Game was made at a budget of around 27-28 crore and is heading to be the first big disaster of 2011 with average first day collections awful at around 10% and reports are not good leaving it with no chance at the box office.

The Box office collections of GAME are at par, or even lower, than Abhishek's last disaster KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY at many places. Game is a major washout at the box office. Game Box Office Report/Review.

In fact, nothing excites her more than a challenge – be it in work or in life. And it was this amazing persona coupled with her outstanding academic and professional accomplishments that attracted Karan to her in the first place.

She’s also a fun person whose otherwise busy itinerary also includes party trips to clubs in Miami, Beirut and St Tropez. Chic Vandana Melwani is allegedly quite the party girl of New York society.
