Salman Khan's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' to release on November 11, Diwali 2015

MUMBAI: Salman Khan-Sonam Kapoor starrer family entertainer " Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is set to hit the screens on November 11, on the festival of Diwali, its makers announced on Monday.

'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' will be releasing during the festival of lights -- Diwali. Salman and Sonam star in this complete family entertainer that we hope will tug at the heartstrings of audiences with the 'Indianness' of love, and values it has in its core," director Sooraj Barjatya said in a statement.

In the movie, Salman is said to be playing a character that he hasn't in a long time.

"He is the quintessential Prem once again that audiences have loved and treasured in their hearts. We are gearing up with release strategies that will unfold soon," added Barjatya.

Produced by Rajshri Productions and distributed by Fox Star Studios, the family drama marks the "Dabangg" Khan's return to a Barjatya film almost after over 15 years. The duo last worked together in 1999's blockbuster "Hum Saath-Saath Hain".

"Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan have created magic with their movies in the past, made box office records and with 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' -- a film that has its heart at the right place -- this is definitely the movie of the year releasing this Diwali," said Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios.

Apart from Salman and Sonam, the film also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Swara Bhaskar, Deepak Dobriyal, Armaan Kohli and Anupam Kher in key roles.

Salman, meanwhile, will next be seen in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by Kabir Khan, the romantic drama is slated to release during Eid.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. Big Fight on Sets of Salman Khan's Film Dabangg

A major fight took place on the sets of the Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer movie Dabang in Wai on Sunday night. Co-producer Manoj Chaturvedi, who was in high spirits, punched the chief assistant director Himanshu Mehra as the former’s son Shantanu (an AD on the film) complained of being mistreated by the unit. Himanshu Mehra was injured because of which he had to be given three stitches on his forehead. He is currently recuperating in a hospital. Salman Khan has fired Manoj Chaturvedi’s son Shantanu because of whom the fight took place. Producer Arbaaz Khan has called for a meeting today with Manoj, who is also the production controller on the sets.
