Rebel Maharashtra leader Eknath Shinde, who was camping at a five-star hotel in Gujarat’s Surat till Tuesday night, reached Assam early today (Wednesday 22nd June 2022)

According to the media reports, as many as 40 MLAs of Shiv Sena, along with their leader, Eknath Shinde, arrived in Guwahati in Assam on Wednesday. Senior Minister Eknath Shinde and multiple other Shiv Sena MLAs rebelled against the party over its policies and alliances. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday called an emergency meeting amid the brewing political crisis in the state.
