The Christmas Clash: Can Kartik Aaryan’s "Tu Meri Main Tera" Survive the "Dhurandhar" Tsunami?

MUMBAI – As the industry gears up for the final major release of the year, all eyes are on Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s romantic comedy, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM). However, despite the festive Christmas window, the film is facing an unprecedented challenge.


The Box Office Struggle

While Kartik Aaryan is coming off the massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, his latest rom-com directed by Sameer Vidwans is struggling with advance bookings. Reports indicate a modest ₹1.81 crore in ticket sales for Day 1. The primary culprit? The "Dhurandhar" wave.

Despite the box office noise, early reviews are positive. Critics are praising the "classy and crazy" chemistry between Kartik and Ananya, with many calling the second half "emotionally resonant." Box Office Report of Dum Maro Dum : 'Dum Maaro Dum' opens to dull houses. Despite the fact that Friday is a National Holiday, DUM MAARO DUM opened below the mark at the box office in the first and afternoon shows on friday morning at major centres of the country. Of course, the opening trends of DUM MAARO DUM were better than Abhishek Bachchan's last release GAME, but that's no compliment. The occupancy at multiplexes was slightly better, especially at metros, in 30% to 35% range, while single screens were between 10% - 15% - 20%. The average opening, thus, stands at 25% - 30%, which is poor. In view of the fact that it's a National Holiday, the morning and noon shows of DUM MAARO DUM should've started on 50% - 60% note at least.
