Bobby Deol Playfully 'Complains' to SRK About Son Aryan Khan's Demanding Directorial Style on 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' Set

Aryan Khan's Netflix Debut: Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan, is set to make his debut with Netflix India's "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," with a first look having been released. Co-star Bobby Deol reportedly complained about Aryan to SRK during the shoot.

MUMBAI – The highly anticipated directorial debut of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, with Netflix India's "The Bads of Bollywood"* is already generating buzz, not just for its intriguing premise but also for some light-hearted behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Veteran actor Bobby Deol, who plays a pivotal role in the series, recently shared a humorous 'complaint' about Aryan's demanding directorial style directly to Shah Rukh Khan.

The incident came to light during a gala preview event for the show, hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, where he introduced the cast, including his long-time friend Bobby Deol. Shah Rukh, with his characteristic wit and charm, expressed his gratitude to Bobby for joining his son's debut project, acknowledging their three-decade-long professional bond.

Bobby Deol, who is set to portray an aging superstar named Ajay Talwar in the satirical series about the Hindi film industry, was full of praise for Aryan's vision and ability to extract the best performances from his actors. "It's very difficult to get your emotions what you write on paper for each character, and the way Aryan has done that is just amazing," Deol stated, commending Aryan's directorial skills.

However, Deol quickly followed up with a playful grievance. "Woh alag baat hai ki boht nichodha hamein (It's another matter that he overworked us a lot). He used to ask me, 'One more take?' and I used to say, 'Haan beta, ek aur take (Why not? Let's do it). I initially thought that he was going to go easy on us, but he made us work very hard."

Shah Rukh Khan then chimed in, revealing an amusing incident where Bobby actually called him late one night to "complain" about Aryan's relentless pursuit of perfection. "Ek baar isne raat ko call karke bola, 'ki tu aja bhai yeh boht kaam karwa raha hai, mujhe jaana hai ab' (He called me during the night one time and told me, 'Please come to the set, he is making us work too much. I need to go now')," Shah Rukh recounted, eliciting laughter from the audience.
This playful exchange highlights Aryan Khan's dedication and intense work ethic as a debutant director, even pushing seasoned actors like Bobby Deol to their limits to achieve his vision. "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," which is co-written and directed by Aryan, promises to be a fresh and edgy take on the film industry, with cameos from other prominent personalities like Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar.

The series is scheduled to begin streaming on Netflix on September 18, 2025. This sneak peek into the making of the show, along with the reported "overworking" by young Aryan, has only heightened anticipation for his much-awaited entry into the world of filmmaking.
