Kaabil V Raees: Raees Takes Huge Lead in Advance


The big box office clash between Kaabil and Raees looks a bit of an anti climax as far as initial is concerned as the Shahrukh Khan starrer Raees has pulled a distance ahead. The advance of Raaes started late with some multiplexes only opening advance yesterday but it has notched up pre sales of 12.50 crore nett. Dangal was 16.50 crore nett, Sultan was 21 crore nett and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was 15 crore nett but these were Xmas, Eid and Diwali releases respectively and all were solo releases and no fighting for shows which leads to the advance opening late. The advance is excellent at both multiplexes and single screens with the single screens at muslim centres in Gujarat and UP having chances to witness record collections on a non holiday. Considering the situation its a huge advance and that will be reflected in the initial tomorrow as its looking to beat Kaabil easily all over unless the on the day crowd changes the scenario.

Yamla Pagla Deewana First Day Friday Business at the Box office: Yamla Pagla Deewana had a good start on an all India basis and done very well on its first day despite underperformance at multiplexes in most parts of the country. Some places were phenomenal while others not so good. Punjab set new highs at all stations while rest of the of East Punjab was very good. Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. He then spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. Big Fight on Sets of Salman Khan's Film Dabangg

A major fight took place on the sets of the Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer movie Dabang in Wai on Sunday night. Co-producer Manoj Chaturvedi, who was in high spirits, punched the chief assistant director Himanshu Mehra as the former’s son Shantanu (an AD on the film) complained of being mistreated by the unit. Himanshu Mehra was injured because of which he had to be given three stitches on his forehead. He is currently recuperating in a hospital. Salman Khan has fired Manoj Chaturvedi’s son Shantanu because of whom the fight took place. Producer Arbaaz Khan has called for a meeting today with Manoj, who is also the production controller on the sets.
