Ayan Mukherji reveals magical details about Dragon, starring Ranbir Kapoor

Director Ayan Mukerji has revealed that his upcoming romantic-fantasy film with Ranbir Kapoor will feature the actor in the role of a man whose special powers are in the form of fire.

This is the third collaboration between Ayan and Ranbir after the duo worked together in Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. The upcoming film, also starring Alia Bhatt, has been tentatively titled Dragon.

“I have not locked the title yet. Dragon is just the tentative title. It was called Dragon because in the film, the boy has connection with fire. It is his power. The guy has a mystical connection with fire. So, I called it Dragon. There’s something I like about the word,” Ayan told reporters on Tuesday.

Ranbir, who is currently shooting the Sanjay Dutt biopic, is expected to start filming Ayan’s film in August.

The director said that the actor will have to go to extra lengths for the film.

“Ranbir will have to put a lot of extra efforts for the movie. There’s so much stuff in the film like action, dance, movements... I hope he is going to do a lot in the film.”

He was speaking at the Indian premiere of Moonlight organised by Jio MAMI Film Club with Star in association with Vkaao and PVR Pictures.

The screening was also attended by Kiran Rao, Kabir Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Sayani Gupta and Shruti Seth among others.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases. In July, the Rajasthan High Court found the 50-year-old actor not guilty of killing an endangered species of gazelle or chinkara in two separate incidents in 1998 while he was shooting a film in the desert state. The state government challenged his acquittal; it wants him to be imprisoned to serve the rest of his sentence - after being convicted in 2007 for hunting down and killing the chinkaras, he was awarded a one-year prison term and a five-year prison term respectively. Big Fight on Sets of Salman Khan's Film Dabangg

A major fight took place on the sets of the Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer movie Dabang in Wai on Sunday night. Co-producer Manoj Chaturvedi, who was in high spirits, punched the chief assistant director Himanshu Mehra as the former’s son Shantanu (an AD on the film) complained of being mistreated by the unit. Himanshu Mehra was injured because of which he had to be given three stitches on his forehead. He is currently recuperating in a hospital. Salman Khan has fired Manoj Chaturvedi’s son Shantanu because of whom the fight took place. Producer Arbaaz Khan has called for a meeting today with Manoj, who is also the production controller on the sets.
