Manisha Koirala to play Ranbir’s mother in Sanjay Dutt biopic

The pre-production work on director Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt is in full swing. The makers have now finalised the name of the actor who will play Sanjay Dutt’s mother, Nargis, in the story. And it’s none other than Manisha Koirala. Ranbir Kapoor plays Sanjay Dutt in the film.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Rajkumar Hirani said, “We were thinking of many actresses. And while Manisha is really pretty and a fantastic actress, my primary reason for taking her is that she’s a cancer survivor and, having been through the journey herself, can identify with Nargisji’s fight with cancer. When we met, she told me a little about that journey.”

We have also learnt that Anushka Sharma will play the role of a journalist in the film while Sonam Kapoor will be seen as one of the woman Dutt falls in love with.
