In March 1995, A.R. Rehman and Saira got married. His mother found Saira a bride for Rahman. Saira first met A.R. Rahman's mother and sister at a dargah in Chennai. Then, he talked to them and proceeded with the marriage proposal.

Saira was 22 at that time. Saira Banu belongs to a wealthy family with roots in Gujarat. Saira's sister Mehrunisa is married to famous actor Rahman. Their marriage was in 1993.

Salman Khan Issued Supreme Court Notice On Acquittal In Chinkara Poaching Case Actor Salman Khan was today issued notice by the Supreme Court on an appeal by the Rajasthan government challenging his acquittal in two poaching cases.
