Dr. Naman Shah, Director of Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli, where Mr. Mandhana is admitted, provided a detailed health update to the media:Symptoms and Time: "Shrinivas Mandhana, Smriti Mandhana's father, experienced symptoms of a heart attack around 11:30 AM after feeling left-sided chest pain," said Dr. Shah. Medically, this is referred to as 'angina.'
Initial Findings: Mr. Mandhana was immediately transferred to the hospital. Initial reports show that his cardiac enzymes are slightly raised, and his blood pressure is currently elevated, necessitating continuous monitoring.
Future Procedure: While an initial echocardiogram showed no new major findings, the medical team is taking extreme caution. Dr. Shah confirmed that Mr. Mandhana "may need continuous ECG monitoring and, if necessary, angiography."

When asked about the potential cause of the sudden health episode, Dr. Shah noted that the symptoms could be linked to the intense schedule and emotional weight of the event."It could be due to physical or mental stress, perhaps because it is wedding season with a lot of hectic activity," the doctor remarked.

Following the immediate medical emergency, Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed the wedding scheduled for November 23 was indefinitely postponed.
