Shah Rukh Khan has found his 24 angels. The actor recently met these 'celestial creatures' at his home, Mannat. The girls, selected from across the country, will participate in the reality series, Knights and Angels. Produced by SRK's Red Chillies Idiot Box, it will air on NDTV Imagine.
The show's aim is to encourage sports enthusiasts to take interest in cheerleading and even consider it as a career option. The criteria for selection were dancing skills, inclination towards sport, personality and attitude.
Talent hunt
Knights and Angels is a talent hunt for the six cheerleaders of SRK's Kolkata Knight Riders team for the Indian Premier League. Choreographer Shiamak Davar will groom the girls. Sourav Ganguly, captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, will be the judge.
These angels will be the driving force for the Kolkata Knight Riders team as they slug it out in the cricket ground and travel with the team.
Says Pranjal Khandhdiya, creative head-non-fiction, Red Chillies Idiot Box, "The girls have been selected through auditions in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore. The show will run for six episodes and will be shot at Yash Raj Studios. As Sourav is the team's captain, he will also select the cheerleaders who will accompany the team."
