Shashi Tharoor Condemns Colorado Attack: "No Place for Terror in Our Countries" He Says

Boulder, Colorado | June 2, 2025 – In a strong statement condemning the recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, Congress MP and former diplomat Shashi Tharoor asserted that "terror has no place" in any country. The incident, which saw six elderly individuals injured after being set on fire during a pro-Israel rally, has drawn widespread international condemnation.

Tharoor, who is currently leading an all-party parliamentary delegation on a global outreach mission to the Americas, expressed relief that there was no loss of life in the attack. He echoed the sentiments of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing the universal nature of the fight against terrorism.

"Members of the Indian MPs' delegation learned with concern about the terror attack in Boulder, Colorado today. We are relieved there was no loss of life," Tharoor stated in a post on X. "We all share Secy of State Marco Rubio's view that 'terror has no place' in our countries."

The attack, which involved 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman shouting "Free Palestine" before throwing incendiary devices into the crowd, underscores the volatile nature of global extremism. Soliman has been charged by the FBI in connection with the incident and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The Indian delegation's visit to the Americas is part of "Operation Sindoor," a diplomatic initiative launched in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. The mission aims to expose Pakistan's alleged long-standing support for terrorism and build international consensus against such acts. Having concluded visits to Panama, Guyana, and Colombia, where Tharoor strongly reaffirmed India's zero-tolerance stance against terrorism, the delegation is currently in Brazil and is slated to visit the United States next.

Tharoor's consistent condemnation of terrorism across various platforms highlights India's unwavering commitment to combating this global menace. His statements resonate with the broader international effort to create a world free from the threat of extremist violence.
