In a profound gesture of solidarity and respect for the victims of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has announced the cancellation of his scheduled event in Mumbai. The actor, who was slated to launch the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), stated, "We are with the country," emphasizing the nation's collective grief.

The decision comes hours after London-bound Air India Flight AI171, carrying 242 passengers and crew, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport this afternoon. Initial reports indicate a devastating loss of life, with the aircraft reportedly crashing into the B.J. Medical College UG hostel mess in Meghani Nagar, a densely populated area.

Salman Khan was expected to attend a press conference for the ISRL with co-founders Veer Patel and Ishan Lokhande. However, as news of the horrific accident unfolded, the organizers and Khan jointly agreed to postpone the event.

In an official statement, the ISRL and Salman Khan conveyed their deepest condolences: "As we all have just heard the tragic incident that has taken place today. Indian Supercross Racing League and Mr. Salman Khan stand by the Nation United in this tough time. All our condolences and prayers are with the affected families. Jointly, we have made a responsible decision to reschedule this event to a further date."

The sentiment was echoed by other prominent figures in the entertainment industry. Actor Vishnu Manchu also postponed the trailer launch of his film 'Kannappa', which was scheduled for tomorrow, expressing his heartbreak over the lives lost.

The Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (VT-ANB) was bound for London Gatwick when it issued a 'Mayday' call moments after departure, losing contact with Air Traffic Control soon after. Rescue operations are underway, with emergency services, NDRF teams, and local firefighters on site, battling thick black smoke billowing from the wreckage.

The entire nation is mourning the devastating loss, and Salman Khan's decision to cancel his event reflects the somber mood prevailing across the country. His statement, "It's not a time for celebration," encapsulates the gravity of the situation and the shared sorrow felt by millions.

Just a day before the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s high-octane film Raees on January 25, we have a new song from the movie: Intriguingly titled Dhingana, the track details SRK’s journey from a small-time bootlegger to a dreaded gangster in the film. The song is sung by Mika Singh. It seems the film is trying to project him as a benevolent gangster who knows how to take care of his people. It looks more like the Indian version of Robinhood.
