Sanjay Kapur Inheritance War: Karisma Kapoor’s Children Challenge Sunjay Kapur’s Will, Accuse Step-Mother Priya Sachdev Kapur of Using 'Bogus' Will

‘Digital Footprint of Criminal Conspiracy’: Karisma Kapoor’s Children Call Sunjay Kapur’s Will ‘Bogus’ in High Court.

Mumbai: The ongoing inheritance dispute surrounding the late Delhi-based businessman Sunjay Kapur has taken a dramatic turn, with his children from actress Karisma Kapoor - Samaira and Kiaan - alleging that their father’s will is a “digital footprint of criminal conspiracy.” The siblings have approached the High Court, primarily locking horns with Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, over the legitimacy of the inheritance documents.

The core of the dispute revolves around a will purportedly left by Sunjay Kapur, which his children Samaira and Kiaan have vehemently challenged. Sources close to the family indicate that the siblings have presented arguments in court suggesting the will is not authentic and was potentially fabricated or manipulated. Their legal team is reportedly highlighting inconsistencies and anomalies in the document, which they claim point towards a larger scheme.

"Our clients believe that the will presented is bogus and does not reflect their father's true intentions," stated a representative for Samaira and Kiaan's legal counsel, who wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the case. "We are working to expose what we see as a digital footprint of criminal conspiracy embedded within the very creation and presentation of this document."

Sunjay Kapur, who passed away in early 2025, had a complex personal life. He was previously married to Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had Samaira and Kiaan. He later married Priya Sachdev Kapur. The succession of his assets, which include significant business holdings and properties, has been a contentious issue since his demise.

Priya Sachdev Kapur’s legal team, on the other hand, maintains that the will is valid and legally binding. They are expected to present evidence supporting the authenticity of the document and challenging the allegations made by Samaira and Kiaan.

The term "digital footprint of criminal conspiracy" suggests that the siblings' legal strategy might involve forensic analysis of electronic records, communication, or metadata related to the creation and execution of the will. This could include examining timestamps, digital signatures, email exchanges, or other digital evidence to prove their claims of foul play.

The High Court is now tasked with sifting through these serious allegations and counter-allegations. The case has drawn considerable media attention due to the involvement of high-profile individuals and the intriguing nature of the claims made by Karisma Kapoor’s children.

The legal proceedings are expected to be lengthy and complex, with both sides preparing for an intense battle over the inheritance. The outcome of this case could set a significant precedent, especially concerning the acceptance of digital evidence in challenging testamentary documents.

Stay tuned for more updates as this high-stakes inheritance battle unfolds in the High Court.
